You can fill out the paperwork by yourself on this website through our guided process, or we can help you find a lawyer.

- Most counties will require a lawyer if property or substantial financial accounts are involved (however, if government benefit checks are the only finances involved you can still qualify for an "of the person" only filing).
- You will need to work with a lawyer if there is property or significant financial accounts involved ("of the property" filing). You may also want to contact a lawyer for an "of the person" only case if you are not comfortable handling the process yourself.
